Claudia Orth
Director, Professional Education and Training
Claudia Orth earned her BSN from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, and has over 20 years of experience working as a registered nurse in critical care, clinical quality, patient safety, and sepsis.
In her nine years serving as the Sepsis Coordinator for her hospital, Claudia collaborated with multi-disciplinary stakeholders across a northern Michigan hospital system to implement a robust sepsis program, and developed evidence-based electronic early warning alerts, screening tools, and order sets. She also led system-wide didactic education, and high- and low-fidelity simulation education, and performed data abstraction and data analysis to identify key performance improvement opportunities for the organization.
Claudia has been an enthusiastic and passionate participant, supporter, and follower of Sepsis Alliance’s great work for many years, and she is excited to join the organization to help further its mission to save lives by improving sepsis awareness and education among the public and healthcare providers.
In her free time, she loves watching her two children play sports, spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, and taking advantage of all the beautiful bodies of water and surrounding nature that northern Michigan has to offer.
