New Training Module for Healthcare Professionals: Sepsis in Pregnancy
January 6, 2022
The facts speak for themselves. To combat the sepsis in pregnancy epidemic, healthcare providers need to know the signs and symptoms of pregnancy-related sepsis, as well as how to screen for sepsis early and initiate treatment. Fast recognition and treatment of sepsis is key to increasing pregnant peoples’ chances of survival.
This new free training module, jointly developed by Sepsis Alliance and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) District II, describes the unique physiology during and following pregnancy and the challenges healthcare providers face when identifying and managing pregnancy-related sepsis. Presenters share strategies for recognizing and treating pregnancy-related sepsis in the emergency department, critical care and obstetrical units, as well as on the floor.
The module can be taken at your convenience on the Sepsis Alliance Institute website. Learners can earn 2.50 RN CE Contact Hours or 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™!
Sepsis Alliance gratefully acknowledges the support and subject matter expertise provided for this training module by ACOG District II.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
