Here is my story. I had never heard of sepsis before I prayed that I would get pregnant and did I asked the Lord would he give me a baby girl and he did.
I had a doctor appointment the next day. I went in and had a UTI they said but my baby doctor wasn’t too concerned about it so we went to the ultrasound appointment. My water broke and I didn’t know it so they took me to delivery. I was 34 weeks pregnant so my baby was born and then in NICU.
I stayed in the hospital for 2 days. I was fine than I got out 2 days later, went home. The next day I started running a fever. It was 104. My UTI was never treated. Anyway my husband took me back to the hospital. The nurse there told the ambulance guy to take me to a different hospital in Lexington, KY, or I was going to die. He put me in the ambulance we went. (Sepsis and Pregnancy & Childbirth, Sepsis and Urinary Tract Infections)
I had chills, didn’t know who I was. They took me straight to ICU, then they took me to surgery. I had to have 5 surgeries. I was in the hospital for 1 month. They transferred me to rehab so I could walk again. It helped a lot. I had a wound vac and they finally took it off. The lord healed my wound. It’s not there anymore, just very raw. I do have pain in my legs and feet and on the inside. I can walk a little better around the house. I don’t need my walker unless I’m very tired or my wheelchair. I can go to the bathroom all by myself but I still need help. I have to go to physical therapy and occupational therapy.
