Lisa Bryant

Survivor

It all started once I got my right right kidney taken out October 23rd, 2024. I was sent home 3 days later still sick with pneumonia and vomiting. (Sepsis and Surgery, Sepsis and Pneumonia) One week later I got sepsis. I couldn’t remember anything, I was confused and scared.

I remember my stepdaughter came in my room and I had vomited and used the bathroom on myself real bad. She looked at me and asked me if I was ok and I just looked at her, then before I knew it my husband was calling the ambulance and I was in the ER. I remember looking up and seeing nurses to my left and my husband to my right. My husband left and I lost time from the time he left til 8 am the next morning. I had kidney failure and was put on dialysis.

They ran tests and found out my gallbladder was leaking toxins into my bloodstream. I became very delirious and mean. I cussed doctors and nurses out and threw my fan at them. I was so scared. I was having nightmares. I begged God to take me. It was painful and scary. At times I was hallucinating and very paranoid. I thought the nurses were trying to kill me. I was in ICU for 6 days. On Friday they put me in a regular room and scheduled for my gallbladder to be taken out that Monday. I was scared to be alone. I was to scared to go to sleep. That Friday I got out. When I came home I lost all control of my right leg. I have severe PTSD. When I feel sick I go into a panic. I check my temperature nonstop. Then come to find out I had septic shock! I now live my life in constant fear of it coming back.
