Jason Andrews
Tribute

On January 24, 2019, my husband, Jason Andrews, went in the hospital for a schedule surgery. He was throwing up and found it difficult to breath. (Sepsis and Surgery)  The doctors and nurses told the family it was normal for him to throw up and to feel confused due to his medications.

On January 27, 2019, he was released to go home. On January 28, 2019, I called the doctor to discuss my husband’s symptoms. He was feeling dizzy, confused, throwing up, and low blood pressure. The doctor asked to bring him in for a direct admit. We waited in the waiting room for 4 hours before they placed him a room. There were so much took place by his death on January 29, 2019. His death certificate stated that he died from septic shock. Now that I have studied sepsis, he had all of the signs of sepsis and the hospital did not recognize the symptoms. I want to become more involved on how to spread the word of sepsis and make the hospital aware of sepsis. I have lost a husband. My children lost their father. Now, my life is upside down. I do not know where to begin my life without him. Azonda Andrews
