I was 7 months pregnant when I fell ill from a kidney infection. 24 hours later it had turned into sepsis. My husband got told by the doctors that if he had left it even 10 minutes later before calling 999 I would have died. He, along with the amazing NHS staff, saved not just mine but my unborn daughter’s life. I’ve never been so close to death before and since then I have valued life so much more.
I didn’t even know what sepsis was and it’s so common! So much more knowledge needs to be communicated. I’m luckily to be able to say I’m a sepsis survivor, many aren’t. x
