Recreational therapy is a type of therapy that uses leisure activities to support physical and mental/emotional healing in people with illnesses and other debilitating conditions. Common Post-Sepsis Syndrome symptoms, such as depression, trauma, and cognitive challenges, have been shown to be responsive to treatment plans which include recreational therapy, as have the stress and burnout commonly experienced by loved ones. In this session, learn key concepts that are commonly a part of recreational therapy, including some that can help manage the many symptoms that are common in sepsis survivors and their loved ones.
