Sepsis Alliance Connect Presentation: Sepsis: How is the Healthcare Professional Community Educated & Trained?
January 16 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Date: January 16, 2023
Time: 12:00 PM ET
Description:
A common saying in the medical community says that when it is first developing, sepsis is often difficult to diagnose but easy to treat. However, once the condition progresses from sepsis to septic shock, the diagnosis becomes clearer but treatment is much more challenging. How then are healthcare professionals educated and trained on evidence-based best practices to prevent sepsis and save lives and limbs throughout their career? In this presentation, the presenters will share what healthcare professionals typically learn about sepsis during their years of education and training. They will also review the ways Sepsis Alliance Institute works to support and provide continuing education, best practice resources, and peer-to-peer networking to sepsis coordinators and healthcare professionals across the country, and how those impacted by sepsis can take advantage of educational offerings to boost their own sepsis knowledge.
