Larissa May

Larissa May, MD, MSPH, MSHS, is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of California, Davis Medical Center. Dr. May’s research interests center on the application of rapid diagnostic assays, behavioral economics, and informatics to improve infectious disease management, including sepsis, in the emergency department.

She is currently a Clinical Partner in the UC Davis Center for Diagnostic Innovation, where she supports the clinical development of assays, registrational trials, and post-market implementation studies. She has also served on numerous national and international committees and task forces focused on infectious diseases in acute care.

Dr. May serves as the co-chair of the American College of Emergency Physicians Technical Expert Panel on Sepsis. She is a clinical advisor to the Berkeley SkyDeck and an independent consultant to multiple biotech and life sciences companies in the infectious diseases area.
