John W. Beard
John “JW” Beard, MD is the Chief Medical Officer of GE HealthCare – Patient Care Solutions (PCS). Dr. Beard is responsible for contributing clinical expertise to strategic business processes including innovation, clinical evidence generation, health economics and outcomes research, and scientific communication. Dr. Beard was previously at ICU Medical Inc., where he served as Chief Medical Officer.
Prior to joining GE, Dr. Beard was in clinical practice for 15 years, including roles in pre-admission clinics, operating rooms, pain services, and labor and delivery units. During his practice, Dr. Beard led multiple quality improvement initiatives and held leadership positions including Chairman and Medical Director of the Department of Anesthesia. His clinical experience has been enriched by providing volunteer medical care in the Americas, Asia, and Africa.
